This is a full time position that is 1/2 time Gifted Teacher for District as well as Title I Teacher for Concordia Elementary School.

Term of Employment	Employed for normal school year. Teaching assignment as determined by the district.
Salary/Work year	As determined by the Board of Education
Evaluation	Conducted by building administrator according to board policies and the Concordia R-II Adopted model of the performance-based evaluation

Essential Job Functions:

 

• Teaches communication arts, social studies, mathematics, and science to pupils in a classroom using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities.
• Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law, administrative regulations, and procedures of the school district.
• Develops lesson plans, instructional materials, and provides individual and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the individual student.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize available time for instruction.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss the pupil’s progress and interpret the school program.
• Identifies the pupil’s needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
• Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and centers.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self selected growth activities,
• Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids. Maintains required inventory records.
• Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities as assigned.
• Administers group standardized tests in accordance with the district’s testing program.
• Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
• Participates in faculty meetings, committees, and sponsorship of student activities.
• Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
• Complies with good safety practices.
• Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
• Other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary may be assigned.
