School-Based Therapist - This position's duties include the following key items: 

 

• Provides ongoing individual and group therapy to students with a variety of needs. 
• Communicates appropriately with building teams, supervisors, and parents to ensure positive outcomes for students. 
• Provides support to students and families. Ex: providing resources and making referrals. 
• Maintains client, progress, and billing records as appropriate.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality. 
• Assists with the development of staff training materials regarding mental health.
• Participates in IDEA and Section 504 processes as appropriate.  
• Participates in scheduled and open reflective supervision opportunities with the director of special services in order to continually optimize student outcomes and services.  
• Participates in professional development as required and appropriate.

 

Requirements: The School-Based Therapist must hold a license that allows them to conduct ongoing, long-term individual and group therapy sessions. Examples include the following: licensed professional counselor, licensed play therapist, or licensed clinical social worker. Provisionally licensed professionals may also be considered.
