School-Based Therapist - This position's duties include the following key items:
- Provides ongoing individual and group therapy to students with a variety of needs.
- Communicates appropriately with building teams, supervisors, and parents to ensure positive outcomes for students.
- Provides support to students and families. Ex: providing resources and making referrals.
- Maintains client, progress, and billing records as appropriate.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Assists with the development of staff training materials regarding mental health.
- Participates in IDEA and Section 504 processes as appropriate.
- Participates in scheduled and open reflective supervision opportunities with the director of special services in order to continually optimize student outcomes and services.
- Participates in professional development as required and appropriate.
Requirements: The School-Based Therapist must hold a license that allows them to conduct ongoing, long-term individual and group therapy sessions. Examples include the following: licensed professional counselor, licensed play therapist, or licensed clinical social worker. Provisionally licensed professionals may also be considered.
